DAY2

November 6th: 63km / 4,500mD+ / 4,000mD-
On Day 2, after traversing the Koshu Alps, we will continue toward the lily of the valley colony parking lot, located at the midpoint of the Misaka Mountains. The highest point of the day is Mt. Daibosatsurei, one of Japan’s 100 Famous Mountains, standing at 2,056m above sea level, while the lowest point is Sasago in Otsuki City at 560m. After completing the Koshu Alps traverse, our goal is Mt. Kurodake, the highest peak in the Misaka Mountains at 1,793m.

A highlight of Day 2, which links Okuchichibu and the Misaka Mountains, is the breathtaking sunrise over Mt. Fuji as seen from near Mikubo Plateau. The ridge traverse, which passes through Yanagisawa Pass, Mt. Daibosatsurei, and Mt. Koganezawa, offers stunning panoramic views of Japan’s iconic peak. From Mt. Koganezawa, as well as Mt. Ushioku-no-Karugaharazuri, Mt. Okuratakamaru, and Mt. Hamaibamaru, you can take in the magnificent sight of Mt. Fuji, which has been selected as one of Otsuki City’s Twelve Beautiful Views of Mt. Fuji. If time allows, you may also enjoy the spectacular night view of Fujiyoshida City and Mt. Fuji from the summit of Mt. Kurodake.
