Kai no kuni Long Trail PASaPASA 2022 DAY1

Kai no kuni Long Trail PASaPASA HIRAGA JUN CUP 2022
On the first day, November 8th, 15 mountaineers from as far north as Hokkaido and as far south as Fukuoka gathered in Nirasaki City, Yamanashi Prefecture, and started off energetically.
Although we kept in contact with each other individually, we had rarely gathered together in such a large group in the past, so it felt like a class reunion from the start (?!) and I worried how long my voice would last.
The start of a fun journey! The first summit was “Mt. Kayagatake,” the final resting place of Kyuya Fukada, author of “Japan’s 100 Famous Mountains.”
Mt. Fuji was also beautiful.

The highlight of the first day was the ascetic practice known as the Kinpusan Kodo, which leads up to Mt. Kinpu.
This is the path where many mountain ascetics have practiced since around the Edo period.
Like them, we were sure to be able to receive plenty of energy from nature.
From the cold summit of Mt. Kinpu, one of Japan’s 100 famous mountains, we could see Mt. Fuji in the distance.

It was a full moon that night.
We were thrilled by the miraculous situation of a total lunar eclipse occurring.
At Camp Mitomi, with the cooperation of Yamanashi City, we were able to take a bath in Fuefuki no Yu and enjoyed an amazing evening with delicious houtou noodles treated to us by our local friends.
Everyone from Yamanashi Sports Engine also came to offer encouragement.
Thank you very much.
